Job Description
The Demand & Asset Planner is responsible for efficiently managing the supply chain and production planning within our machine shop. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of tasks, including the execution of material requirements planning (MRP), coordinating purchase requisitions, and managing resource allocation. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth operation of preventive maintenance schedules, maintain high Kanban fill rates, and work closely with purchasing and manufacturing engineers to meet production goals.
You will report directly to our Production Scheduling Manager and work out of our Arvada, CO location on an onsite work schedule.
- MRP Execution: Analyze and run MRP messages to determine production needs. Initiate and manage purchase requisitions based on these analyses.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate available resources effectively to ensure optimal production flow.
- Preventive Maintenance Scheduling: Work with the maintenance supervisor to schedule PM's on equipment in assigned work centers.
- Order Management: Track and report the status of orders, ensuring timelines are adhered to and any potential delays are communicated and addressed.
- Dispatch List Management: Prepare and manage dispatch lists to guide machinists in their daily tasks.
- Non-Conformance Management (NCM): Document and handle all non-conformance matters, collaborating with manufacturing engineers to determine disposition actions.
- Collaboration with Purchasing: Partner with purchasing teams to procure necessary raw materials timely, ensuring no disruption in production.
- Kanban Management: Maintain and oversee Kanban systems to keep fill rates at healthy levels, proactively addressing any issues.
- Coordination with Unit Planners: Work closely with unit planners to guarantee hardware readiness aligns with on-time production starts.
- Load vs. Capacity Management: Monitor, analyze, and manage load versus capacity for work centers, being proactive in identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- 1‑3 years of experience in planning and resource management within a manufacturing or similar environment.
- 1+ year of experience using MRP systems.
- Strong understanding of production planning principles.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to manage complex situations effectively.
- Strong communication skills for cross‑departmental coordination.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills.
