About the roleJob Summary:
The Assembly Mechanic will be responsible for back filing and balancing impellers, installing pump components, performing hydrostatic tests, installing pumps into test pit, and assembling full pumps for shipments. Other duties may be required as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Using common hand, air, and power tools, assemble horizontal and vertical pumps per Engineering Instructions, Drawings, and Work Orders.
- Disassemble and inspect pumps for repairs.
- Perform hot work for installation of subcomponents.
- Coordinate work with other Assembly Mechanics, and shop personnel to assist them in accomplishing tasks.
- Resolve issues with work instructions to shop, including interfacing with engineering, purchasing, quality, planning, and project coordinators.
- Perform grinding operations and balancing on pump impellers.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
- Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Recommended 5 years experience in related environment, preferably working with pumps.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
