Unit Overview
Gerber ICU is an 11‑bed mixed unit with 2 observation beds and 9 inpatient beds. The unit is being refreshed with new paint, flooring, and artwork and hosts medical/surgical and ICU patients.
Scope of WorkDelivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, encompassing ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

- Associates in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor’s in Nursing (required within 5 years)
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- BLS (AHA or ARC) mandatory (must complete within 90 days)
- ACLS (AHA) mandatory (must complete within 6 months)

24 hours, 7:00a.m. to 7:30p.m.; variable days worked. Weekend frequency: every other weekend.
