Role Description

The Apprentice Pro is a full-time, on-site role based in Colorado, United States, supporting adaptive programs and participant experiences. In this role, the Apprentice Pro assists with planning, setting up, and facilitating daily adaptive activities such as skiing, snowboarding, recreational outings, and other seasonal programs. Responsibilities include providing direct support to participants, helping with equipment fitting and safety checks, and collaborating with instructors, volunteers, and staff to ensure inclusive, safe, and engaging experiences.

The Apprentice Pro also helps with administrative tasks related to program logistics, participant registration, and documentation, and may support outreach efforts and special events. This position requires consistent on-site presence, flexibility with seasonal schedules, and an enthusiasm for working outdoors in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications
  • Ability to support adaptive recreational programs, including assisting with equipment, safety procedures, and outdoor activities in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with participants with diverse cognitive and physical abilities, families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple program tasks, maintain accurate documentation, and follow established procedures.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, respect, and person-centered support, with a compassionate approach to working with people with disabilities.
  • Willingness to learn and follow training related to adaptive techniques, risk management, and participant care; prior experience in recreation, education, or human services is a plus.
  • Ability to work full time on-site in Colorado, including weekends and holidays as program needs require; reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certifications in outdoor recreation, adaptive sports, education, or related fields are beneficial.
  • Basic computer skills for email, scheduling, and documentation; familiarity with nonprofit or program management systems is an advantage.
