Position: Temporary Seasonal Visitor Services Tech – James M. Robb Colorado River State Park.

Temporary Seasonal Visitor Services Tech – James M. Robb Colorado River State Park

This is a temporary position (up to 9 months) paying $17.00 per hour, with opportunity for increase.

Employment starts March–May through September–October. The position is up to 40 hours per week and may accommodate school schedules. Housing is not provided.

Responsibilities
  • Provide information on the park and the area to visitors.
  • Utilize a Point of Sale System to sell passes, permits, camping, registrations, fishing/hunting licenses, and gift certificates.
  • Answer telephones and take detailed messages.
  • Accurately collect revenue, complete shift report and shift box at the end of each shift.
  • Prepare campground reservation forms and documents (Island Acres and Fruita).
  • Document and report visitor complaints.
  • Clean and perform light maintenance duties of interior offices, restrooms, kitchen, watering plants, and litter pick up.
  • Assist with special events or programs within the park.
  • Prioritize job duties and multitask.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
  • Previous experience handling money and working with the public is helpful but not required.
  • May need to undergo criminal background investigation.
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Be able to work with little supervision.
  • May be required to work the entrance station for an 8‑ or 10‑hour shift.
  • May not be able to leave for lunch.
