The RoleWe’re seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial Design Consultant to join our lean, growing team. In this full‑time hybrid role based in Arvada, CO, you’ll work directly alongside our founder and project manager to build K&H Painting Pros’ client base from the ground up. This is a hands‑on, scrappy role for someone who thrives on independence, isn’t afraid to hustle, and wants to be part of something new with real growth potential.
You’ll own the entire sales cycle, from knocking on doors and networking in the community, to conducting in‑home design consultations, to closing deals and maintaining client relationships. If you’re a self‑starter who can create opportunities and turn them into revenue, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:- Build your own pipeline through door‑to‑door outreach, community networking, and relationship building
- Conduct in‑home consultations to understand clients’ design vision, preferences, and functional needs
- Close sales by building trust, addressing objections, and guiding clients confidently through the decision‑making process
- Manage client relationships from initial contact through project completion
- Work closely with our founder and project manager to ensure seamless handoffs and excellent project execution
- Adapt quickly, problem‑solve on the fly, and contribute ideas to help grow the business
- Track your pipeline, follow up diligently, and stay organized without extensive oversight
- Stay current on design trends, products, and industry best practices
- Is hungry, self‑motivated, and energized by building something from scratch
- Thrives in unstructured environments and doesn’t need hand‑holding
- Has a hustler mentality—comfortable with door‑knocking, cold outreach, and getting creative to generate leads
- Can work independently while collaborating closely with a small, nimble team
- Takes ownership of their results and holds themselves accountable
Skills & Experience:
- Strong sales ability and comfort closing deals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—you can connect with anyone
- Interior design knowledge, including color theory, space planning, and styling
- Understanding of furniture and furnishings to make informed recommendations
- Self‑discipline and organizational skills to manage your own schedule and pipeline
- Resilience and persistence—you don’t take "no" personally and keep pushing forward
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Proficiency with design software or CRM tools is a plus
This ensures you’re always compensated fairly as you build your pipeline, with significant upside as you close deals.
Realistic Earning Potential: Your income grows directly with your effort and performance. Consultants who consistently generate and close their own opportunities can expect to earn well above the base rate, with top performers building substantial income as their client base expands.
- Base Compensation: $20.00/hour
- Commission Rate: 5‑8%+ on sales (whichever is greater than base pay) based on deal size
