Position Overview
The Energy Sales Representative is responsible for developing and implementing a successful sales strategy to grow the fuel, lubricant, and propane business for Keystone Cooperative within the assigned area by building lasting relationships with customers and prospects.
Duties and Responsibilities- Lead generation and initial contact with new prospects.
- Develop competitive logistics solutions and close new business.
- Establish and build a regional energy distribution business.
- Make formal and informal sales presentations.
- Implement effective sales strategy.
- Take inbound fuel orders and process them while maintaining accuracy in company software.
- Logistics problem‑solving, price arbitrage execution, and monitoring of logistics/documentation support.
- Build strong internal networks with consistent communication.
- Address and resolve logistical and relationship issues (credit, payment, delivery, etc.).
- Maintain and grow the customer pipeline to drive margin growth.
- Communicate with customers in a timely manner.
- Working knowledge of industry product information.
- Well‑developed negotiation, project and account management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively throughout territory.
- Proven ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels.
- Organizational, problem‑solving, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to meet or exceed sales metrics; strong mathematical aptitude.
- Knowledge of technology and ability to troubleshoot minor technology issues.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience; 3 years petroleum sales experience preferred.
