Role Overview
This role is the key contact for assigned accounts within a territory. The position provides tactical sales direction and communication strategies to defend existing business and gain new business. It involves working with stakeholders and leadership to implement business and marketing plans for assigned accounts, focusing on growth of the territory and increasing share of wallet.
Scope and ObjectivesGeographic Scope:
National or international North American sales region, as assigned.
Annual sales target: $5‑15 million (actual may vary). Number of accounts: 8‑25.
Responsibilities- Deliver sales goals, including profitable year‑over‑year growth for the assigned territory.
- Learn about Amcor, our products, industry and competitive market.
- Increase business with existing and new accounts through prospecting and networking.
- Assist in key business negotiations for new opportunities, supporting Amcor’s interests and demonstrating ability to influence decisions and actions.
- Build relationships with customers based on trust and respect.
- Build cross‑functional relationships to support share‑of‑wallet growth strategies and support commercialization and onboarding processes with key areas (internal and external).
- Network externally to become familiar with key influencers and collaborators within the industry, focusing on co‑packers, machine suppliers, OEMs, industry associations.
- Coordinate Sales Management, R&D, Marketing and Field Service in support of validation trials and customer trials.
- Manage accounts receivable at acceptable levels with assistance from the credit department.
- Work with Strategic Marketing to understand focus areas and meet strategic unmet customer needs.
- Work with leaders on the implementation of defined strategy (technology, product management, commercial) for the market and targeted segments.
- Report and communicate current performance achievements in terms of sales and marketing contribution for monthly management reporting.
- Drive forecast accuracy for improved business results.
- Manage account planning, pipeline management, profitability improvements, and churn management in the CRM tool.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1+ years relevant experience in technical, sales and general management, preferably within the packaging industry.
- Proven track record of successful sales growth and profitability.
- Experience with negotiations.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (60% of time).
- Starting salary: $85,600‑$107,000 (subject to variation).
- Potential eligibility for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan.
