Position: SECURITY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Duties DUTY 1:
Serves as the Directorate Personnel Security Program Specialist. DUTY 2:
Serves as the Directorate Information Security Program Specialist. DUTY 3:
Manages the Directorate's Physical Security Program. DUTY 4:
Manages the Directorate's Security Education & Training Program. DUTY 5:

* This position has been designated as Special Sensitive. The employee is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmental Information clearance as a condition of employment.
* If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at:  
* This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* This position is designated by the Air Force as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
* Employee must maintain current certifications
* Disclosure of Political Appointments

* Leave accrual may be authorized upon request
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* This is a KEY position IAW 32 CFR, Part 44 Appendix A and DOW Directive 1200.7. A Key Position is a Federal position that cannot be vacated during a war, national emergency, or mobilization.
* IAW DOWI 3020-42 the position has been locally, or command designated as Mission Essential (ME) performing a Mission Critical Function.
* Employee may be required to work and/or be "on call" after normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends or holidays and is subject to short- or no-notice recall to duty during exercises, crises, or contingencies.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations in performance of temporary duty (TDY).
* YA002 = Eligible for situational telework only, including Ad hoc, Emergency, or OPM prescribed "Unscheduled" Telework.
* Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOW 3305.13-M and AFI 36-2645. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems;
Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and expertise in information, personnel, and physical security to effectively administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security program specialists;
Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility requirements for access to classified or sensitive information for submitting and processing personnel security clearance/access request packages. OR

EDUCATION:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in
-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
