The Division of Facilities Management (DFM) is a customer‑driven support organization responsible for operating, maintaining and managing the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) facilities and campuses according to all applicable standards. The Division promotes the CDHS mission of providing a safe, sanitary and effective environment for clients, youth, residents, patients, consumers and staff and enhances the quality of life in CDHS facilities, campuses and in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Services include day‑to‑day facility maintenance and operational needs of buildings, grounds, custodial and fleet services.

- Division of Youth Services (Zeb Pike, Spring Creek and Pueblo Youth Services Center)
- Veteran’s Community Living Centers in the South District, as needed
- Repair of electrical equipment and maintain all electrical branch‑circuit, feeder, service equipment, bonding systems, devices and facility systems in a thorough journeyman‑like manner in compliance with applicable code and regulatory standards.
- Design, layout, and determine materials required for new construction, additions and remodels, and coordinate with associated trades and contractors.
- Read, interpret, design, draw and modify blueprints, wiring schematics and diagrams to service and maintain electrical distribution systems.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on existing stationary and mobile electrical branch distribution systems, devices, appliances and equipment.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on commercial and residential kitchen equipment, including power slicers, can openers, bread slicers, steam operated equipment, electrically operated kitchen equipment, gas operated kitchen equipment, bakery equipment and electronic controls.
- Provide order part specifications, guide nutritional services staff, maintain inventory of replacement parts for kitchen equipment and assist with installation and set‑up of new kitchen equipment.
- Perform other duties as required such as snow removal, general labor or other essential tasks.
Applicants must possess current, valid licensure as a journeyman electrician or master electrician from the Colorado Electrical Board.

Preferred Qualifications & Competencies- Valid and active master electrician license issued by the State of Colorado
- Relevant years of state service experience
- Experience in repairing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems, including distribution, security, fire alarms and automation controls
- Experience in reviewing and documenting audits and inspections of electrical projects
- Knowledge of proper procedures for handling hazardous materials
- Knowledge of NEC – National Electrical Code
- Knowledge of NFPA – National Fire Protection Association 110 and 101
- Ability to read and understand sketches, shop drawings, and complex blueprints
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong ability to prioritize work assignments and accomplish tasks within established time frames
- Excellent customer service skills and understanding of customer needs
- Requires State of Colorado residency at the time of application and throughout employment.
- Full pre‑employment criminal background check required; felony convictions or related misdemeanors may disqualify.
- Must possess and maintain an active Master or Journeyman Electrician license issued by the State of Colorado.
- Must possess a valid non‑restricted Colorado driver’s license (out‑of‑state holders must obtain within 30 days).
- Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
- Required to drive state vehicles and travel to sites, training, meetings and occasionally other districts.
