Maintenance Mechanic

Work in a professional manner with other maintenance personnel as needed to keep all equipment in top working order, resulting in only quality products being released to the customer.

• Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optic systems.
• Pre‑inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, repair and shop equipment are required, and communicate with the Maintenance Manager.
• Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
• Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.
• Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment.
• Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to review deficiencies.
• Accurately log all work performed.
• Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly manner.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Be thoroughly familiar with plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment and other safety programs and apply these procedures when working on equipment.
• Other duties and/or jobs as assigned.

• Work off of a ladder or in high or cramped spaces.
• Skillful in diagnosing and repairing plastic injection molding equipment and accessories.
• Troubleshooting industrial motors, starters, controls, and panels.
• High school education or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good hand and eye coordination is essential.
• Demonstrated dexterity in using hand tools.
• Ability to lift 100 pounds and carry 50 pounds safely.
• Ability to intermittently sit, bend, climb, twist, crouch, reach, and lower.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to transfer and interpret explanations of problems and understand work assignments.
• Maintain required certified electrical worker status, including certified CPR.
• Preferred 2 to 3 years’ experience with maintenance.
• Injection molding machine abilities preferred.
• Understanding of hydraulics.
• Electrical background preferred.
• Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of PLC.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely and professionally.
• Welding and fabrication as needed.
