Ongoing Casework Manager
Boulder County Human Services Department seeks a supervisor for ongoing child welfare caseworkers. The role includes strategic oversight and direct case management to support children and families facing abuse, neglect, or other child welfare concerns. The manager plans, organizes, and directs a unit of human services, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and commitment to equity and inclusivity.

Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor staff to ensure the effective and timely provision of services to families
- Review case materials and manage assignment of families to staff
- Ensure compliance with state and federal law, and policy to ensure compliance
- Provide direct support to families addressing abuse, neglect, mental health, and substance abuse issues
- Assist staff in assessing the safety of children with their families
- Attend court hearings and provide testimony as necessary
- Deliver ongoing casework services honoring and respecting diverse cultural backgrounds
- Collect and analyze outcome data to manage programs efficiently and ensure adherence to agency and state guidelines
- Manage workloads on the team
- Partner with other Ongoing supervisors to ensure consistency in programming and partnership among teams
- Support staff in engaging families in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive manner
- Collaborate with internal and external partners
- Perform related work as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
- Minimum 5 years of combined education and experience in social casework
- Bachelor’s degree with coursework related to child welfare social casework, e.g., human behavior, child development, family intervention, diagnostic or therapeutic techniques
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work effectively with employees, clients, agencies, management, and the public
- Pass background investigation with fingerprinting
- One year in a supervisory or lead capacity
- Thorough knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts of social casework practice
- Thorough knowledge of community resources and agency rules and procedures related to assigned program area
- Skill in supervision and management
- Ability to work effectively with other employees, clients, agencies, management, and the public
