We are looking for a Community Justice Specialist to help provide accountability and support to justice‑involved individuals at Larimer County Community Justice Alternatives.
CJA prioritizes community safety and reduced recidivism by offering innovative, cost‑effective alternatives that help clients become productive members of society while serving their sentences.
What you'll be doing- Supervise clients directly and ensure they follow program rules
- Conduct intakes to explain facility and program procedures to new clients
- Monitor client living and work areas through formal counts, location checks, and phone searches
- Maintain facility safety and security by controlling contraband and performing searches of clients and living spaces
- Support client accountability by monitoring medication use, conducting interviews, and using systems such as NCIC, CCIC, Colorado Courts, and Jail Management
- Collaborate with community agencies, employers, and others to support client employment, work projects, and community service commitments
- Communicating clearly and effectively, both in writing and in person
- Understanding of crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and security practices in a detention setting
- Keeping accurate records and writing clear, detailed reports
- Following rules, policies, and procedures consistently and professionally
- Responding calmly and appropriately in conflicts and challenging situations
- Being ready and willing to assist in medical emergencies
- Managing multiple responsibilities at once with focus and efficiency
- Delivering respectful, high‑quality customer service
- Being available to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overnights
- Two (2) years of higher education or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position
- Possession of a valid driver's license by the date of hire
- Possession of adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within six (6) months of hire

Shift schedule:
Day, swing, overnight, holidays, and weekends. Shifts are chosen yearly based on seniority and the position may be subject to on‑call/mandatory overtime.
An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of required pre‑employment checks or testing.
