Description
DELIVERY DRIVER
Reports To:
Parts Manager
The overall goal of the Parts Delivery Driver is to support sales efforts and effectively deliver products to and from customers. The Driver will safely operate and maintain company equipment and provide representation for the organization. The Driver will be an advocate of the Palmer Road Map and strive to promote a better workplace each day with a positive attitude and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct weekly maintenance checks using the vehicle maintenance form to record safety and functionality of the assigned vehicle.
- Maintain assigned vehicle cleanliness (interior & exterior) as per company policy.
- Perform accurate picking & packaging of orders to fulfill customer requests.
- Communicate order accuracy to sales personnel and/or customers.
- Plan route for efficient delivery while maintaining positive customer expectations.
- Ensure all orders are delivered safely and accurately to customers.
- Act as an extension of the organization, promoting goods and services while building customer relations.
- Collect, secure, and properly document payment for all orders delivered.
- Assist with stocking, pulling, and other business errands as needed when primary tasks are completed.
- Assist in answering phones when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles.
- Safe driving record.
- Time and Priority Management – prioritize tasks to deliver desired outcomes within allotted time frames.
- Customer Focus – anticipate, meet or exceed customer needs, wants and expectations.
- Teamwork – cooperate with others to meet objectives.
- Self-Starting – demonstrate initiative and willingness to begin work.
Pickup truck or van drivers may work varying hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, and may be required to work long hours or be on-call for deliveries or specific assignments. The position is primarily outdoors across all seasons, with varying weather and road conditions.
Physical RequirementsMobility:
Ability to move in and out of the truck and perform bending, lifting, and climbing in/out of the cargo area.
Vision:
Good eyesight and visual acuity are required to safely operate the vehicle, read signs, and navigate the road.
Hearing:
Good hearing to be alert to sounds such as sirens, horns, or other warning signals.
Manual Dexterity:
Ability to operate vehicle controls including steering wheel, pedals, and dashboard controls.
Lifting:
Occasionally lift and carry moderate-weight items when loading and unloading truck cargo.
