Technical Assistant to the Construction Official
Location:
Asbury Park City, NJ.
Starting salary: $53,873.
Responsibilities- Calculate and collect fees and penalties as directed and issue receipts.
- Review applications to ensure all necessary documents and information are correct.
- Issue construction permits after approval by the Construction Official.
- Provide information to the public regarding Uniform Construction Code application requirements.
- Maintain logs for all subcodes, prepare reports, and consult applicants.
- At least two years of experience processing, reviewing, and issuing construction permit applications.
- Valid New Jersey Uniform Construction Code Certification as a Technical Assistant, issued by the Department of Community Affairs.
- Proficiency in SDL (Software Development Life Cycle) is a plus.
- May need to pass a NJ Civil Service test for this position.
