Home Instruction Teachers Needed

This position requires the ability and willingness to provide in-person instruction in the student's home or designated location. Applicants should be prepared to provide face-to-face instruction. Virtual instruction may be considered only in limited, case-specific circumstances.

Per Diem P/T:
Hourly Rate $39.00

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Valid New Jersey State Department of Education Teacher Certification / w/ Special Education Certification Preferred

* Demonstrated knowledge and skills in area to be taught.

REPORTS TO:

Principal/Director and/or Supervisor

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Plan appropriate instructional/learning strategies and activities, including determination of appropriate principles of learning, classroom organizational structures, and kind and level of materials.

* Implement an instructional program which provides appropriate learning experiences for each student.

* Utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning.

* Assess student achievement as related to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes. Maintain appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation for institutional and individual reporting purposes.

* Manage the behavior of students in instructional setting to ensure environment is conducive to the learning process.

* Coordinate instructional activities and collaborate with other professional staff, both school and non school based, as required to maximize learning opportunities.

* Request assistance of and work with resource personnel, as needed.

* Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement.

* Ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of students' progress.

* Perform all required subject tutoring to home instruction students as prescribed by the student's school. Notify parents, home district, and MOESC supervisor if student is in jeopardy of failing-document notification. Maintain the MOESC timesheet and obtain the parent's/guardian's signature for each day of service.

* Commence home instruction within a 24 hour turn-around time from time of assignment.

* Participate in in-services and staff development activities and staff meetings as required.

* Perform all other duties as assigned.
