Project Scientist - Environmental Solutions

Summary

Partner has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Environmental Project Scientist to support our Environmental Solutions Practice on projects throughout the northeastern United States from the Asbury Park, NJ office. The role focuses on site characterization, risk assessments, and implementation of remedial actions and reporting.

• Coordinate field investigations, operations, and remediation.
• Conduct environmental monitoring and sampling of soil, groundwater, soil gas, and air.
• Implement field investigations and remedial activities such as soil borings, monitoring well installation, underground storage tank removal oversight, soil excavation, disposal management, and associated sampling.
• Act as Site Supervisor during field events with subcontractors.
• Collect field data using monitoring equipment and instrumentation.
• Provide office support, including data evaluation, tabulation, technical report preparation, and regulatory submittals.
• Work directly under the supervision of the team’s Project Managers.
• Travel to regional job sites daily with some travel outside the area and overnight stays.

• Experience conducting fieldwork on environmentally impacted sites and willingness to learn additional remedial techniques.
• Capable of site reconnaissance and detailed field note preparation.
• Strong communication and report‑writing skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of scientific data compilation and organization.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Positive attitude and strong relationship building within a team.
• Understanding of environmental consulting concepts related to risk management and due diligence.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities.
• Experience with state‑specific environmental regulations (NJ, NY, CT, PA, or others) is a plus.

• 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, due diligence, or risk management services, including field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in geology, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Current 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Pass a baseline physical exam and respirator fit test.
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend English; communicate clearly in person and by telephone.
• Visual acuity adequate to read printed material and computer screens.
• Frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.

Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000. Compensation decisions consider skill set, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs. Eligible for discretionary incentive bonus program based on individual and organizational performance.
