About Us

Solar Landscape is the leading commercial rooftop solar developer in the U.S. Only 4% of commercial rooftops host solar today — we’re changing that, fast. Commercial rooftop solar is the fastest, smartest way to build new clean power — delivering megawatts of generation in months, not years, and powering America’s energy and future right where it’s needed most. Recognized as the #1 Distributed Generation Developer by New Project Media, the #1 National Commercial Rooftop Solar Developer by Solar Power World, and winner of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grand Prize for Clean Energy, Solar Landscape is defining the future of energy generation in America.

Headquartered in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Solar Landscape has offices in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York City and operates in over a dozen states nationwide. We move fast, solve hard problems, and take our work seriously — but never ourselves. We value clear thinking, accountability, and execution. At the same time, we’re collaborative by default, and believe the best work happens when people enjoy working together.

Our team is made up of smart, grounded people who show up for each other — whether that’s troubleshooting a system design or catching up over lunch. If you’re looking to do meaningful work in a high-performance environment — and be part of the team reshaping how energy gets built in the U.S. — we’d love to meet you.

About

The Role

Solar Landscape is hiring a Manager, Strategic Transactions (Commercial & Regulatory) to support the company’s expansion into new markets and create innovative commercial structures across the United States by managing contractual and regulatory considerations across complex partnership transactions.

As Solar Landscape works with key players across the energy landscape to unlock new pathways for distributed clean energy deployment, this role will sit at the intersection of legal, regulatory, and commercial execution. The Manager will help ensure that first-of-their-kind transaction structures are grounded in regulatory reality and contractual discipline while remaining flexible enough to support rapid market entry.

Reporting directly to the Director, Strategic Transactions, this role is a core member of a small, senior execution team and offers direct exposure to new market development, novel transaction structures, and senior decision-making.

This role will be based in the NY / NJ metro area and is expected to be in-office 3–4 days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Transaction & Contract Support:
Support review, negotiation, and execution of PPAs, framework agreements, development agreements, and other commercial contracts. Identify key contractual and regulatory risks embedded in transaction documents and surface them clearly to the deal team. Maintain contract issue trackers and support timely resolution of open items across internal and external stakeholders.
  • New Market & New Product Enablement:
Support early-stage structuring of transactions in new markets and emerging product types. Work closely with the Policy team to understand regulatory and utility program frameworks and translate them into transaction-level implications. Help identify market-specific requirements, constraints, and execution risks relevant to deal design and negotiation.
  • Regulatory Interface:
Serve as the primary execution-side interface with the internal Policy team. Apply regulatory guidance to live transactions and contractual structures. Ensure regulatory considerations are accurately reflected in agreements and internal decision-making.
  • External Counsel Management:
Coordinate with external legal counsel to support efficient and focused contract review. Prepare issue summaries and targeted questions to maximize the value of outside counsel engagement. Review and synthesize counsel feedback for the transaction team.
  • Program Build & Knowledge Management:
Support development of templates, precedent libraries, and internal playbooks for recurring contractual and regulatory issues. Capture lessons learned from executed transactions to improve future efficiency and scalability. Balance standardization with jurisdiction-specific nuance…
