Job Overview
The Library Assistant performs varied tasks to support library materials processing and circulation, assist students and staff and support the school librarian.

- Provides clerical support to the school librarian
- Supports and assists the school librarian in encouraging library use
- Assists in processing library materials and circulating resources
- Assists students and staff in locating materials and utilizing resources and technologies
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

- Ability to utilize library management systems
- Ability to apply library procedures and policies
- Ability to compose routine memoranda and letters with general instruction
- Ability to maintain clerical and financial records and prepare routine reports
- Ability to operate a word processor and standard office equipment
- Knowledge of online search techniques
- Proficiency in word processing and data entry
- Lifting or moving 26-50 pounds
