Job Description:
As a Lead, Contracts, you'll take the lead in managing contracts from start to finish for both federal and commercial projects. You'll play a key role in overseeing the company's customer relations and supporting the administrative tasks involved in securing and executing prime and subcontracts to deliver innovative products and services. This exciting role supports our Agile Development Group, a dynamic division focused on pioneering next-gen technologies in areas like Unmanned Air Systems (UAS/UAV), advanced radar systems, cutting-edge weapon systems, and RF sensor technologies-all powered by the agility of a small company and the experience of a large one.
Essential Functions:
- Conducting in-depth RFP analysis, identifying risks, and crafting compelling proposals in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment
- Aligning contracts with company policies, legal requirements, and customer expectations.
- Developing competitive bids and proposals tailored to customer needs and organizational objectives.
- Leading contract negotiations to ensure favorable terms and an executable business deal are reached.
- Managing the contract administration process for optimal support of internal and external customers.
- Serving as the key liaison between L3
Harris and customers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. - Working with cross functional teams to evaluate performance costs, performance, and delivery schedules to ensure contract accuracy and completeness.
- Managing change processes in dynamic environments, coordinating with internal teams, and preserving rights for adjustments.
- Demonstrating independent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proactively contributing strategic insights to business operations for continuous execution and improvement.
- Building strong relationships and enhancing team dynamics.
- Prioritizing tasks with urgency to meet multiple deadlines and customer commitments.
- Advising management on contractual rights and obligations to protect company interests.
- Maintaining detailed records for all contracts managed.
- Clearly presenting information to various stakeholders, including management.
- Capable of working in a classified environment, such as a SCIF.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant contracts experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related contracts experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related contracts experience.
Preferred Additional
Skills:
- At least 8 years of experience in federal contract management, including Cost Reimbursable, Time & Materials, and Firm Fixed Price contracts.
- Secret US security clearance
- Recognized subject matter expert with in-depth knowledge of contract management practices.
- Strong expertise in FAR and DFARS regulations, with the ability to guide teams through compliance during proposal development, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Proven experience negotiating terms and conditions with government entities and prime contractors across various contract types.
- Familiarity with working alongside DCMA, DCAA, and other federal agencies.
- Experience managing intellectual property and data rights issues.
- MBA preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple contracts independently.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with experience working collaboratively in a diverse, multidisciplinary, and fast-paced team environment.
- Strong work ethic and a dedication to contributing to the organization's success.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
- Professional Contracting Certifications preferred.
