Job DescriptionPCI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Insulation Estimator for its PCI Washington DC 566 operations based in Ashburn, VA.
Job Responsibilities- Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects
- Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing
- Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self‑performing group
- Gain understanding of market conditions and competitive approach through engaging customer feedback on proposal scope clarifications and price
- Understanding backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages to mitigate risk
- Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams
- Participate in customer alignment objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relationships
- Utilize wage and benefit schedules
- Hand‑off secured projects to the Operations team
- Assist in other duties as assigned such as change orders depending on the project(s)
- Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration
$88,000-$116,000 annual salary plus non‑guaranteed annualized bonus program.

Basic Requirements- Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work
- Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- High level of attention to detail and cost analysis
- Proactive and self‑motivated
- Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work
- Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On‑Screen Takeoff, BuzzBID, Quickbid, and/or MIKE
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam Revu, Procore, or Plan Swift
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
- At least 2‑4 years of experience estimating construction projects is preferred
- Experience with estimating/project management/managing HVAC pipe and duct insulation scopes of construction is preferred
