Role Description The Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sterling, VA, supporting the planning and execution of flooring construction projects. This role assists the Project Manager with scheduling, coordinating materials and deliveries, tracking project progress, and communicating with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include expediting orders, monitoring job site activities, preparing reports and documentation, and helping ensure projects stay on schedule, within scope, and aligned with safety and quality standards.

The Assistant Project Manager also supports inspections, resolves logistical issues, and contributes to continuous improvement of project workflows and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Project Management skills, including scheduling, coordination, and basic budget tracking.
  • Expeditor and Expediting experience to manage orders, materials, and timely delivery to job sites.
  • Inspection skills to assist with quality checks, site walk-throughs, and compliance with safety and construction standards.
  • Logistics Management skills to support material handling, warehouse coordination, and efficient job site operations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Ability to work on-site, collaborate with field staff, and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Proficiency with basic office and project management software; experience in construction or flooring is beneficial.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
