Job Overview
The Language Ambassador will work alongside the lead teacher to support the implementation of a 2‑week Summer Spanish Science and Language-based Camp. This role involves assisting in planning and creating engaging, hands‑on instructional experiences tailored to the needs of young Spanish immersion learners. The Language Ambassador will collaborate closely with the teacher to facilitate interactive activities, promote positive social interactions in Spanish, and support language acquisition through science concepts.

- Assist in designing and implementing engaging learning experiences in Spanish.
- Support the adaptation of activities to meet the needs and interests of Spanish immersion students.
- Establish a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning, encouraging student participation.
- Monitor and support student behavior in instructional settings, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with the teacher, families, and community members involved in the program.
- Collaborate with the teacher to create materials and resources as needed.
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
EducationHS Diploma/GED
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Passion for working with children and supporting language learning in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in Spanish, preferably at an advanced-mid proficiency or higher.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Ability to adapt to the physical demands of the job, including engaging in outdoor activities and supervising children for extended periods of time.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly talks, expresses, or exchanges ideas by means of the spoken word. They must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. The employee frequently sits and/or remains in a stationary position for long periods of time.
The employee may exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
