Job Overview

The Assistant Principal provides assistance to the school Principal as requested in the total school program.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Principal in the implementation, supervision, and evaluation of the total school program; evaluate instructional and classified personnel; supervise student conduct and co‑curricular activities; supervise school food service program and transportation; oversee departmental budgeting, acquisition of supplies & supplementary materials for instructional use; coordinate programs and services related to instruction; supervise custodial staff.
  • Coordinate building maintenance.
  • Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and handle special cases as necessary.
  • Serve with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
  • Perform record‑keeping functions as directed by the Principal.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience:

    Experience as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, or equivalent administrative experience.
  • Licenses and

    Certifications:

    Holds or is eligible for the Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PreK‑12.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Possesses leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
