Job Overview
This part-time position provides support to middle schools in the administration of the Virginia Language and Literacy Assessment Screening System (VALLSS).
Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.
- Administers the Virginia Assessment of Language and Literacy Screening System (VALLSS) Assessment in accordance with LCPS and state guidelines, often in a one-on-one setting.
- Ensures testing protocols are followed and testing environments are secure and organized.
- Collaborates with school staff to prepare materials and set up testing locations.
- Supervises students during testing and provide support as needed.
- Documents and reports any testing irregularities or concerns.
- Completes and submits the required post-assessment documentation.
- Maintains appropriate confidentiality.
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
EducationBachelor’s Degree
ExperienceAt least three years of successful full-time teaching experience preferred
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and student accommodations
- Basic proficiency with technology used in online assessments

The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies.
