Job OverviewThe Admissions Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing the division’s commitment to educational excellence, access, and opportunity by ensuring admissions practices and program outreach are student-centered, data-informed, and aligned with strategic priorities. With primary responsibility for the Academies of Loudoun (ACL), the coordinator oversees all aspects of admissions, including recruitment, evaluation, and selection, while also supporting alignment and consistency across all division specialized programs.
The position collaborates closely with school leaders, program coordinators, and district departments to ensure transparent, efficient, and compliant admissions processes that expand access and opportunity for students.
- Under the leadership of the Director of Academic Programs, the coordinator leads a team of content specialists who oversee the recruitment, evaluation, and admissions process for students interested in the Academies of Loudoun (ACL).
- Directs and manages the full ACL admissions process (MATA, AET, AOS), ensuring a seamless, equitable, and efficient experience from inquiry through enrollment.
- Designs and implements comprehensive recruitment and outreach strategies for ACL, while supporting awareness of all division special programs and academies.
- Leads targeted outreach in partnership with ES, MS, and HS offices and develops clear, consistent communication and promotional materials for ACL and division-wide specialized programs.
- Serves as a central resource and assists program coordinators with admissions processes (applications, lotteries, best practices) and promotes consistency across timelines, communication, and procedures.
- Communicates admissions timelines, procedures, and updates to school and stakeholders while assisting the division-wide outreach events and engagement efforts.
- Partners with the Director of Academic Programs on strategic planning, facilitates monthly coordinator meetings, and provides updates on admissions, outreach, and program needs.
- Analyzes admissions and enrollment data to evaluate program access, identify trends, and inform continuous improvement in recruitment strategies, selection processes, and equity of opportunity.
- Supports the Gifted Office with the admissions testing for students applying for the opportunity to attend Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST).

Experience
:
Three (3) years of experience with a public‑school system and an understanding of the admissions process
Licenses and Certifications
:
Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in School Administration
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of admissions policies and procedures for STEM magnet programs
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills, detail oriented, and extremely organized
- Demonstrates the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school personnel, students, parents, general public, business people, and state and national leaders
