Overview
The Content Specialist supports the implementation and alignment of the division’s instructional strategic actions. This position will collaborate with other content specialists, coaches, and facilitators and division and school-based staff in the support of the LCPS Instructional Framework.
Roles And ResponsibilitiesThe following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.
- Assists in the implementation of the division’s instructional strategic actions.
- Collaborates with curriculum leaders to make certain all student needs and experiences are affirmed and included in the curriculum. Further collaborates with curriculum leaders to support the development and implementation of curriculum aligned to the LCPS Instructional Framework.
- Collaborates with key staff and external partners to develop, implement, reflect on, and refine professional learning plans in support of the LCPS Instructional Framework.
- Employs effective coaching strategies based on research and best practices.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience
At least three years’ successful teaching experience
Licenses and Certifications
Holds or is eligible for a Virginia Collegiate Professional License
Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of what constitutes effective teaching and learning
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for building strong rapport and relationships with teachers and administrators
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Uses a team approach and collaboration to accomplish tasks and promote collaboration to improve instruction and student learning
