Job Overview

LCPS BEAM Summer Math Discovery is a program for middle school students run during the summer out of the Academies of Loudoun. This role involves providing instructional support to middle school students under the guidance of an LCPS BEAM teacher. Teacher Assistants play a key role in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for students. They are enthusiastic about mathematics and skilled at building positive connections with students, actively engaging them socially and mathematically to inspire a love for learning and discovery.

• Assist in running activities and managing logistics to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
• Provide hands‑on support in classes, helping students engage with and understand mathematical concepts.
• Perform related work as required.

• Graduation from high school, supplemented by coursework in child development or related field, and experience working with children; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides knowledge, abilities, and skills to...
• Ability to work effectively with children; to carry out designated instructional assignments properly; to supervise student behavior and activities; to perform general clerical work.
• Good human relations and communication skills.
