Talent-in-Training Program
To streamline the onboarding of individuals seeking field placement, LCPS requires such candidates to complete the TNT application and its related onboarding checklist, with appropriate documentation, in its entirety. This allows for an efficient process should such candidates move into a paid role with LCPS.
Within the application, applicants will be asked to specify their preference regarding substitute teaching opportunities. Selecting "Yes" requires additional documentation and authorization to work in the United States. Selecting "No" provides a shorter application for field placement only and does not require work authorization in the United States.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesAs an individual pursuing a field placement with LCPS, you become an integral part of our staff. It is essential to maintain a high standard of professionalism in every aspect of your role. This includes your appearance, communication, and overall conduct, which should consistently demonstrate respect for yourself, your colleagues, as well as the students and families you interact with daily.
QualificationsMinimum requirements are that a candidate must be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or have passed a high school equivalency examination approved by the VDOE Board of Education. If your high school diploma or college transcript was issued outside of the U.S., an evaluation is required. No exceptions will be made. To learn more, view the Virginia Department of Education document for a list of approved agencies for obtaining an official U.S. degree equivalency evaluation of foreign credentials.
