Summer In The Arts Pottery Teacher
The Summer in the Arts Pottery Teacher will instruct students in a class entitled Potter's Wheel. In this class, students will turn clay into functional and non-functional pieces. Techniques will include coil, slab, and pinch pot.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.
- Coordinate with program director and Fine Arts Supervisor in securing required supplies and materials for the program
- Attend an after-school training workshop
- Plan and implement an engaging, age appropriate sequence of instruction
- Plan and implement a concluding event which highlights student work
- Assist Program Director with duties as required and assigned to ensure student safety
Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.
Education- Must hold a valid Virginia teaching license endorsement in the assigned instructional course
