Lead Teacher (Infant/Toddler)
The Goddard School in Ashburn, VA is seeking a professional, dependable, and nurturing Lead Teacher for our Infant/Toddler classroom. This is not a babysitting role. We are a premium early childhood program with high standards for care, safety, curriculum, and parent communication. No nights. No weekends. Predictable schedule.
Compensation & Benefits
- $18 – $23 per hour, based on experience, reliability, and ability to lead a classroom independently
- $500 sign-on bonus ($250 after 60 days and $250 after 6 months)

What You'll Do
- Classroom Leadership
- Lead an Infant/Toddler classroom with full ownership of routines, structure, and environment
- Create a calm, safe, and responsive environment aligned with developmental needs
- Maintain strong classroom management using positive guidance techniques
- Curriculum & Child Development
- Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Observe, document, and support each child's developmental milestones
- Adapt activities to meet individual needs
- Parent Communication (Critical)
- Build strong, professional relationships with families through daily communication
- Provide clear updates on development, routines, and any concerns
- Handle parent questions with confidence and professionalism
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain strict adherence to all licensing, health, and safety standards
- Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and readiness at all times
- Supervise children actively during indoor and outdoor activities
What We're Looking For
- Required
- Experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare setting
- Strong reliability and professionalism (attendance and punctuality are critical)
- Ability to manage a classroom independently
- Comfortable communicating with parents daily
- Preferred
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or coursework in Early Childhood Education
- 1–3 years of classroom experience
- Familiarity with Virginia licensing requirements
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
