High Intensity Tutor

Job Overview

The tutor works with students in grades K-8 in small groups of students of five or less, who need additional academic support.

• The tutor works side by side with the classroom teachers and administrators to help students improve academic skills.

Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

High school diploma;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Teacher licensure in grades K-8 preferred

• Ability to relate to children, teacher, and other school staff
• Knowledge of educational evidence-based best practices in education
• Ability to keep and maintain accurate records and meet deadlines

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time.

Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
