About Us
Kägwerks designs and develops rugged, tactical operator-worn communications technologies that enable unmatched connectivity and integrated secure networking for the individual war fighter.
We strive to increase the survivability and lethality of the war fighter on the battlefield. We do so by providing unmatched integrated tactical communications solutions that help further our national security objectives.
About the roleAs part of the Kägwerks Mission Solutions team, the Solutions Engineer is the primary pre‑sales technical resource supporting customer engagements. This role enables sales opportunities through hands‑on technical demonstrations, operational problem‑solving, and confident, customer‑facing technical consultation.
The Solutions Engineer is responsible for demonstrating and validating Kägwerks solutions in real‑world environments, often at the edge of what has previously been fielded. Success in this role requires strong technical aptitude, lateral thinking beyond formal documentation, and sound judgement to recommend the right solution for each customer’s operational needs. You will regularly represent Kägwerks independently in front of customers and act as the sales team’s primary technical resource throughout the pre‑sales lifecycle.

- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during pre‑sales engagements
- Configure, deploy, and operate Kägwerks systems in lab, field, and customer environments
- Translate customer requirements into recommended system configurations using existing products and capabilities
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers to validate configurations and resolve technical constraints
- Troubleshoot and adapt systems during demonstrations and trials in dynamic environments
- Capture customer feedback, technical observations, and competitive insights to support continuous improvement
You have experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or a customer‑facing technical role, with strong hands‑on aptitude working with complex systems. You are comfortable leading customer discussions, troubleshooting in field environments, and supporting demonstrations and trials with minimal oversight. You hold a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with working knowledge of IP networking, wireless communications, and Linux‑based systems.
Experience with mission‑oriented or defence‑related technologies is highly regarded.
This position is based in Ashburn, VA and requires approximately 50% travel, primarily in support of customer engagements and demonstrations.
U.S. citizenship is required due to the handling of export‑controlled materials, and the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
