Loudoun Water has an immediate opening for a Planning Engineer in the Capital Programs and Planning Department. The Planning team interfaces with all aspects of Loudoun Water; permitting, data analysis, modeling, research, capital and private development, O&M and finance. The Engineer will be responsible for supporting the core Planning functions including development of a variety of planning studies for our drinking water, wastewater, water reuse, community systems programs and water resource assets.
Responsibilities- Participate in the analysis, planning, and operation of the water distribution, wastewater collection, and reclaimed water distribution systems using hydraulic models, climate data, operational and regulatory goals.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of master plans and localized area facility plans for drinking water distribution, wastewater collection and reclaimed water distribution systems.
- Provide technical support to Land Development and water operations with fire flows and hydraulic analysis.
- Support special studies for initiatives such as demand management, water demand and sewer projections, one-water planning and other new policy-oriented initiatives.
- Assist in the collection, maintenance and analysis of data to support multiple goals.
- Support interdepartmental studies and other technical and policy-oriented initiatives.
- Work collaboratively across multiple disciplines and departments to develop comprehensive strategies.
BS degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field, including relevant education and experience in hydraulic engineering and civil engineering design principles, and experience with water and/or wastewater modeling.
