Data Center Facility Manager role acts as Amazon’s front line when it comes to hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. They will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission‑critical data center facility equipment including electrical support equipment such as stand‑by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3‑phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switch gear, UPS units, PDUs, and wet cell batteries and associated systems.
Mechanical equipment includes CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers/water‑chemical systems, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, and motors. Additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role which includes fire suppression systems, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of the data center’s critical physical infrastructure, ensuring high quality work with minimal impact to customers.
- Manage teams of 24/7 engineering technicians in all facets of their career.
- Engage in improvement projects, often requiring coordination with a variety of support teams, and drive them from conception to completion.
- Coordinate daily with a multitude of third‑party vendors, ensuring adherence to contracted SLAs.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures.
- Serve as the after‑hour on‑call Data Center Facility Manager, responding to any issues and managing investigation, mitigation, and recovery.
- 2+ years of experience in a managerial/supervisory role with 5 or more direct reports.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical or mechanical systems.
- 3+ years of administrative experience, including Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology, or 5+ years of experience in a data center or other mission‑critical environment with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.
- Experience communicating technical details verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in an environment that involves walking, stooping, bending, and climbing to access equipment.
- Experience conducting interviews and making effective hiring decisions.
The base salary range for this position is USD – annually (USA, VA, Ashburn). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
