The loudoun county health department invites you to join our dynamic wic team as a nutritionist/breastfeeding coordinator. In this vital role, you will apply your expertise as a registered dietitian to provide comprehensive nutrition services, helping to shape healthier futures for families in the county's women, infants, and children (wic) supplemental food program.

In this role, you will:

• coordinate the breastfeeding program for the loudoun health district.
• analyze participant diets and calculate nutritional adequacy based on recommended dietary allowance (rda).
• assess client nutritional needs according to their lifecycle stage and health status, tailoring wic food packages and providing individualized nutrition counseling.
• review and interpret medical/nutritional histories and lab results.
• deliver educational training and outreach on nutrition and breastfeeding to individuals and community groups.
• conduct high-risk nutrition counseling for clients with specific medical conditions, such as obesity, gestational issues, and anemia.
• lead community education and outreach efforts to increase awareness of program benefits, utilizing strategic methods and venues to effectively share information.

bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field and satisfactory completion of a program of supervised clinical experience approved by the commission on dietetic registration of the academy of nutrition and dietetics; or related qualification requirements as defined by the code of virginia chapter 27.1 of title 54.1 dietitians and nutritionist; one year of relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications:
