Hotel Housekeeping
Description
As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of public areas and corridors of the hotel. This position requires flexible scheduling availability, specifically from 8:00 AM–4:30 PM and flexibility for weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities- Upkeep the public areas
- Assisting with Housekeeping as needed by providing basic housekeeping duties (changing sheets, changing and arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging rooms after guest checkout)
- Ongoing involvement in preventative maintenance programs
- Recognize and report potential safety hazards (broken doors or railings, fire hazards, etc.) and notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, or disturbances
- Maintaining shelf organization in storerooms and replenishing supplies as needed
- Cleaning furniture, elevators, glass, planters, light fixtures, carpets, walls, and more in public areas such as the lobby, pool, and public restrooms
- Delivering special request items such as cribs to guest rooms
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. The employee is also regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The number of hours worked per week varies based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors; a specific schedule cannot be guaranteed.
