Business Process Analyst – Homeland Sector (Leidos)

Pay Range: $107,900 – $195,050

Leidos’ Homeland Sector is seeking an experienced Business Process Analyst (BPA) to support a mission-critical program within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This role supports the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD), which enables DHS and CBP to screen and process travelers at U.S. ports of entry.
You will work closely with architects, agile delivery teams, CBP product owners, and stakeholders to gather, refine, and document business and system requirements in a fast-paced Agile environment. This is a highly visible role where your work directly supports national security and border operations.

This position requires being onsite in Ashburn, VA, two days per week.
Partner with product owners, technical leads, and developers to elicit and document requirements in JIRA (epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria).
Refine, groom, and prioritize the product backlog with product owners.
Work with development and QA teams to define technical and testing requirements.
Support BDD and ATDD practices to ensure quality and accurate delivery.
Lead and facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirement sessions.
Quickly adapt to evolving customer needs and foster innovative solutions.
Take initiative, work independently, and provide leadership within the team.
Occasionally assist with manual testing or Scrum Master responsibilities, while maintaining primary focus as a Business Process Analyst.
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience,
OR Master’s degree with 6+ years
,
OR 7 years of experience in lieu of a degree.Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation (BI).
Strong experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments.
5+ years writing user stories, slicing features, managing backlogs, and working with test suites.
Hands-on experience with JIRA
.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven experience conducting stakeholder interviews and workshops.
Active CBP Background Investigation (BI).
Prior experience supporting CBP PSPD
.Experience in Dev Ops environments using technologies such as:
Java
HTML5 / Java Script
Oracle
Web Services
IBM MQ
