Associate Data Center Technician

10 is currently seeking an Associate Data Center Technician for an onsite contract position with a Leading Technology Firm located in Ashburn, VA (must be flexible for location.) This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

Summary:
As an Associate Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting failed hard drives and DIMMs, and installing new SSD and NVME drives into existing servers. Mentored by level 2 data center technicians, this role requires basic server component experience and entry-level Linux troubleshooting skills to ensure the stability and performance of enterprise computer systems. The quality of work performed will have a direct impact on the stability and performance of the company's systems, so responsiveness and effectiveness are critical.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting and resolution of failed hard drives and failed DIMM's within server nodes
• Installation of new SSD and NVME hard drives into existing servers
• Troubleshooting and resolution of console connectivity issues
• Troubleshooting and resolution of all power supply and RDU (power strip) related issues
• Troubleshooting and resolution of all tier 1 server hardware break fix issues
• Respond to all system problems on a 24X7 basis and take part in on-call rotation
• Assist Data Center Technicians in OS level troubleshooting and network troubleshooting
• Process (identify, tag, and prepare) all server nodes ready for decommissioning

Requirements:

• 2+ years in a Data Center Engineering Role
• 2+ years Linux troubleshooting experience
• 2+ years server hardware troubleshooting experience

Desired skills:

• Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with server hardware components and troubleshooting
• A+ plus certification
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail

Pay Rate Range: $22.00 - $30.80/hr
