CACI is seeking a Data Architect to join our team and support the Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology (IT) (BEAGLE) contract. Responsibilities- Provide high-level architectural guidance, technical innovation, and analytical expertise to teams across CBP.
- Champion all aspects of data architecture, analytic methodology, and visualization functions including engineering standards, governance processes, and providing vision and context to explore and effectively utilize emerging technologies.
- Lead database developers and administrators working across multiple product teams.
- Serve as a data and technology expert across a broad and diverse set of mission critical applications
- Actively participate in Agile Scrum sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, regression testing, demonstrations, retrospectives and solution releases
- Analyze project-related problems and create innovative solutions involving technology, analytic methodologies, and advanced solution components.
- Deliver deployable software in short sprints.
- The ability to be adaptable and work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial.
- 10+ years of professional experience on complex data challenges in data architecture, engineering, data science, data analysis and visualization to design, implement, and maintain data-intensive applications.
- 10+ years of experience with databases, including designing, implementing, and optimizing database systems; experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration.
- Expertise in DBMS such as Postgre
SQL, Oracle, or MySQL; understanding of No
SQL databases like Dynamo
DB, Mongo
DB, Cassandra, or Couchbase. - Knowledge of database design techniques (ER modeling, normalization, denormalization) to create efficient and scalable database structures in a microservices-based architecture.
- Strong SQL skills; experience with stored procedures, triggers, and views.
- Experience with distributed data eventing and message streaming solutions such as Apache Kafka.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and access control, compliant with government regulations.
- Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure SQL Database), and understanding of migrating to or designing databases in the cloud.
- Experience with data integration tools and techniques, including ETL processes and queue-based messaging systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Skills in analyzing and optimizing database performance (indexing, partitioning, query optimization).
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and communicate complex database concepts.
- Optional but beneficial certifications:
Oracle Certified Master (OCM), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or AWS Certified Database - Specialty. - Experience helping customers and mission users conceptualize and prioritize their data analysis and visualization needs.
- Adept at evaluating existing data sets and reporting architectures to identify strategic gaps and apply modern technologies to achieve superior mission outcomes.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to pass CBP background investigation; criteria include, but not limited to:
- 3-year check for felony convictions
- 1-year check for illegal drug use
- 1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
- Experience with graph databases such as Neo4J is a plus.
