About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Data Center Technician to support operations at our Ashburn, VA facility. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server and network hardware in a high-availability, mission-critical environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting and is committed to operational excellence and uptime.
Key ResponsibilitiesRack, stack, and cable servers, network devices, and storage equipment
Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and replacements (RAM, HDD/SSD, PSUs, NICs)
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connectivity, and power issues
Run, label, and manage structured cabling (copper & fiber)
Monitor system alerts and respond to incidents per SLA requirements
Maintain accurate documentation of installations, asset tracking, and ticket updates
Perform routine inspections of power and cooling infrastructure
Follow security, safety, and compliance protocols
Coordinate with network engineers, system administrators, and facilities teams
Required Qualifications1–3+ years of experience in a data center or IT support environment
Basic knowledge of servers, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP), and hardware components
Experience with structured cabling standards
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in hot/cold aisle environments
Familiarity with ticketing systems and asset management tools
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends
Preferred QualificationsCompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification
Experience with remote hands support
Familiarity with enterprise hardware (Dell, HPE, Cisco, etc.)
Understanding of data center power systems (PDUs, UPS, generators)
Experience working in high-density or hyperscale environments
24/7/365 mission-critical facility
On-site role (not remote)
