Network Install Technician​/Network Technician

Job Overview

Network Install Technician/Network Technician 4 position. Base location: greater Frederick, MD (Western MD region) with additional site in Ashburn, VA.

• Gather and review requirements to support the design and implementation of wired and wireless LANs.
• Perform site surveys, design the network, and determine device placement and required materials.
• Ensure operation and maintenance of IT and network infrastructure systems.
• Install, configure, maintain, and ensure reliable operation of computer systems, servers, and networks.
• Test and evaluate wired and wireless networks to confirm performance and security against defined thresholds.
• Diagnose and resolve network-related issues; install network hardware and implement configurations; provide technical support to end users.
• Configure, implement, and operate IT and network applications for management and orchestration in production, lab, staging, and test environments.
• Manage and assign IP space in coordination with other systems across the customer enterprise.
• Meet regularly with the customer to report on the status of orchestration implementation and overall network health.
• Provide direct troubleshooting support and assistance for network maintenance.
• Collaborate with the technical team to implement base configuration files for device changes.
• Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation such as enterprise architecture, application/design, and network architecture.
• Experience with Aruba networking equipment is a plus.
• Support 24/7 operations with shift and weekend work as required.

• Require the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance or Public Trust clearance.
• High school diploma plus specialized training and 6+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level I or Level II compliance; additional network certifications (e.g., CCNA, CWNP, BICSI) are a plus.
• Experience in general networking, network administration, upgrades, and operations.
• Strong technical writing skills with experience producing reports using Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio.
• Knowledge of telecommunications rooms (TR), CAT6, crimps, and wiring standards.
• U.S. citizenship required for access to sensitive information.
