DescriptionAs the Digital Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in the implementation, installation and maintenance of our data center’s digital infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the robustness and reliability of our data center operations, contributing to the overall success of our clients’ businesses. A successful Digital Infrastructure Engineer must have a thorough knowledge of fiber and conduit systems and be able to effectively manage across our teams, clients, and vendors.
The ideal candidate will also have excellent project management skills and a strong commitment to detail. At CloudHQ, we focus on the trifecta:

You Will Get to Do
- Manage and monitor the installation, configuration, and ongoing support of high‑capacity telecommunications backbone infrastructure including but not limited to fiber optics, copper, and coax cabling.
- Oversee the deployment and management of the communication systems, including fiber optic cables, cat 5a/6 cabling, Points of Entry (POE), Main Distribution Frame (MDF), and Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF).
- Conduct routine maintenance and support the fiber and telecommunications infrastructure as required.
- Facilitate carrier access and lease agreements as needed or upon request. Coordinate with security personnel to implement a high level of managed access control and physical security measures within the data center.
- Ensure proper procedures and OSHA safety standards are followed by vendors anytime confined spaces are accessed. This also includes managing 3rd party oversight for all fiber installations inside of the manhole systems.
- Prepare and safeguard project documentation at a professional level, with special attention to detail. This includes documenting project plans, butterfly diagrams, budgets, as‑builts, status reports, and other project deliverables.
- Identify and recommend the internal and/or external resources to reach the project goals and manage the day‑to‑day operational aspects with the internal IT team.
- Communicate project parameters and coordinate all jobs with the dedicated teams and departments to ensure the completion of quality work. This includes communications with all levels of management and non‑management, both internal and external.
- Work to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for OSP/ISP and infrastructure pathways. Manage the implementation of projects within the team.
- Ensure data center‑related priorities are consistent with company policies and objectives; specifically, in the Meet Me and Point of Entry rooms and inside the chamber vaults.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for the IT team on all OSP/ISP and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure seamless integration and operation of digital infrastructure with the facility's electrical, mechanical, and communication systems, as described in the BOD documents.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. This includes developing restoration procedures in the event of an outage. This also requires deploying and managing fiber monitoring systems installed at new and existing sites.
- Work with the development teams on an as‑needed basis. This will include working on new builds as well as overbuilds to existing sites.
- Connect and build strong lasting bonds with new and existing clients, carriers, and vendors.
