The Network Deploy Technician is part of AWS Infrastructure Services, responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating global infrastructure. The role focuses on network scalability and capacity management across multiple data center sites, driving stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks.
Key Responsibilities- Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
- Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment
- Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Scaling support of several data center locations and assisting with capacity management
- Working closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers
- Establishing and following best‑practice operational procedures
- Assisting in the development of automation and scaling solutions for networks
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work 24/7 with ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support
- Work in cramped, elevated, and noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely without limitation
Travel within and outside the regional work area is required. A reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license are required.
Qualifications- 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment & troubleshooting methodologies
- Industry standard certifications (BICSI, CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)
- Experience with tools related to network troubleshooting (VFLs, OTDR, power meters)
- Knowledge of major command‑line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)
