Job Summary:
B&A is looking for an AI Data Scientist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. This role serves as a key Data Scientist on our work for national digital outreach programs for a large federal government agency. The ideal candidate has a combination of technical, operational, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated expertise in collaborating with cross-functional teams to collect and interpret complex datasets.
Candidates must have a desire to be part of a data-driven, customer-focused, fast-paced team that loves the mission of improving the citizen's experience and providing excellent service to government customers. Responsibilities:
* Design and implement machine learning models, Gen-AI (LLM) and NLP models, and statistical methods to solve complex business challenges.
* Build scalable solutions for predictive modeling, optimization, and decision support.
* Analyze large and complex data sets to uncover trends, generate actionable insights, and support data-driven strategies.
* Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (internally, with partners and with customers) to collect and interpret data.
* Explore and apply cutting-edge AI/ML techniques to enhance analytical capabilities and deliver measurable impact.
* Design and produce compelling data visualizations and interactive dashboards.
* Transform complex findings into intuitive visual reports and dashboards to facilitate understanding for non-technical audiences.
* Stay updated with the latest trends in data visualization and integrate innovative techniques into the workflow.
* Work closely with the distributed teams and stakeholders to ensure the data infrastructure decisions factor the interests and data goals of the company and its partners.
* Advocate for data science and analytics principles/best-practices in design/requirements discussions with customers
* Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and tailor visualizations accordingly.
Education and Experience:
* Minimum 5+ years of experience in Data Science.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Information Systems required. Master's degree is preferred
Required Skills:
* Working knowledge and understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms such as regression, classification, clustering, and dimensionality reduction.
* Experience with Large and Small Language models, Vision models, Prompt and Context engineering.
* Experience with advanced techniques like deep learning, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
* Experience with ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost).
* Strong foundation in statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
* Proficiency with Data Visualization tools like Tableau, Quick Sight, Power BI, Qlik View, or D3.js.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and produce actionable insights.
* Experience with AWS data and analytics technologies including EMR, Redshift, Sage Maker, Comprehend, Quick Sight, Glue, and S3
* Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and ML development.
* Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
