Dev Ops Engineer
CI/CD Pipeline Dev Ops Engineer - Join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting the Customs and Border Control (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia. You will be part of a passionate, industry-leading team that follows best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Responsibilities- Work as an integral part of an Agile Scrum team to support the customer's mission and growth objectives.
- Deploy and maintain mission‑critical Dev Ops infrastructure with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with architects, technical leads, developers, testers, and stakeholders to automate software build, configuration, and deployment processes.
- Install, configure, and maintain Dev Ops tools such as source control, CI, CD, monitoring, repository management, provisioning, release management, logging, building, testing, containerization, collaboration, and security.
- Continue development of automated build processes using application servers, HTTP servers, reverse proxies (F5, NGINX), CI tools (Bamboo, Git Lab, Jenkins, Harness), Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Kafka, and AWS services like Data Migration Service.
- Administer, configure, and maintain application stack (Spring Boot, databases, Kubernetes clusters, etc.).
- Automate database changes by integrating database CI/CD tools such as Liquibase.
- Create project resource estimates, track completion metrics, produce defect reports, and improve development efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to cross‑functional teamwork throughout the agile project lifecycle.
- Occasionally work off hours for support and deployments.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass CBP background investigation, including:
- 3‑year check for felony convictions
- 1‑year check for illegal drug use
- 1‑year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
- College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent experience and 7+ years of related experience.
- Experience with CI tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, Harness), Kubernetes, Istio, API Gateways, and Git Lab.
- Experience across multiple cloud providers such as AWS and/or Google Cloud.
- Ability to design and document technical solutions for CI and CD.
- Proficiency in automating and optimizing processes.
- Team‑oriented with strong work ethic and self‑starter attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
- Experience with certificate management for issuing, renewing, and deploying certificates to endpoints.
- Local candidates will work a hybrid schedule in Ashburn, VA.
- Prior DHS or government experience.

Pay RangeSalary ranges are influenced by geographic location, contract category, experience, skills, education, certifications, and other factors. The national average range for this position is $90,300 – $189,600.
