The Assistant Manager, Guest Experience role is an essential part of the store leadership team, ensuring our team members and guests receive a quality experience in our stores each day. Assistant Managers lead from the floor to build, manage, and develop team members, creating a culture of belonging and growth. They ensure their team delivers outstanding guest experience in line with company values.
CoreResponsibilities
- Leadership and People Management
- Create and foster a respectful and inclusive team environment.
- Engage team members by explaining how their work supports store and company success.
- Implement the Store Manager’s People vision and cascade it to team members.
- Support hiring and building a strong, diverse team.
- Support ongoing learning and development with direct feedback, coaching, mentoring, and check‑ins.
- Lead performance management activities, including feedback, coaching, and performance documentation.
- Address employee concerns or issues appropriately.
- Guest Experience and Community
- Lead an exceptional guest experience on the floor through assessment and coaching.
- Provide retail floor leadership, making in‑the‑moment decisions to maintain efficiency.
- Resolve guest feedback and address emergent issues, including escalations.
- Operations, Product, and Strategy
- Partner with managers to review business data and metrics to inform planning.
- Maintain strategic product presentation and visual merchandising.
- Open and close the store according to procedures.
- Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Perform work in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and laws.
- Budget Responsibility
- Accountable for delegated aspects of controllable budget and labor hours.
- People Management
- Lead a subset of store employees as delegated by the Store Manager.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the store is located.
- Must be able to travel to the assigned store with reliable transportation.
- Work occurs on a variable schedule, which may include early mornings, mornings, afternoons, evenings, late nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
- 1 year people management experience.
- 1 year leadership experience, including managing business operations and projects.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 1 year retail or sales specific management experience.
- 1 year recruiting, hiring, or training employees.
- Work occurs in an environment with bright lights and loud music.
- Work is part of a team and also independent.
- Work may involve managing conflict or mediating problems between others.
- Work involves building relationships with strangers/new people and strengthening community partnerships.
- Work sometimes conducted on a computer or other technical devices, including virtual meetings.
- Work involves moving through a store for most of a shift, but may also involve sitting for extended periods.
- Work may occasionally involve moving boxes weighing up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg).
- Base Pay Range: $27.31 – $36.95 per hour, subject to minimum wage in the location.
- Target Bonus: 25%.
- Total Target Base Pay Range: $34.14 – $46.19 per hour.
