Data Center Facility Technician - Schaumburg, IL NAVY NUCLEAR / NAVY NUKE / NAVY ELECTRICIAN / MACHINIST MATE PREFERREDWe seek a Navy Nuke - EMN, MMN, or ETN — to transition into a Data Center Power / Cooling Systems Engineer supporting critical data center clients. This Critical Facility Engineer will create, implement, and support critical power and cooling solutions, ensuring compliance with contractual commitments, managing technical and administrative tasks related to facility operations, and maintaining adherence to company policies.
The data centers operate 24/7/365, requiring solutions that guarantee 99.999% uptime. Navy Nuke experience is highly transferable and can lead to high salaries and leadership roles in the critical facilities market. Unique nuclear training offers a strong foundation for this career path.
- Military experience, especially Navy Nukes (EMN, ETN, MMN), Seabees, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Coast Guard, etc., with electrical/mechanical background.
- Specific Navy experience includes:
- EMN - Electricians Mate (Nuclear Trained)
- ETN - Electrical Technician (Nuclear Trained)
- MMN - Machinist Mate (Nuclear Trained)
- Practical knowledge of critical facilities operations with electrical and mechanical/HVAC systems such as UPS, generators, switch gear, PDU, CRAC units, DC power systems, chillers, and building management systems.
- Experience in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining mission-critical systems.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with computer systems and applications.
- Data center operations experience is a plus.
