Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) intern technicians between July 2026 - January 2027. Interns will participate in our 6-month work and training internship at our Northern Virginia facilities.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. This program accommodates concurrent academic studies at Northern Virginia Community College.

Physical Requirements
  • Schedule:

    Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday day shift; 6-month program duration (July 2026 - January 2027). Flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds;
    Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed;
    Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments;
    Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day;
    Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
  • Shift work may include days/nights/weekends/holidays. Traveling within the regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment across data center infrastructure
  • Support root cause analysis for equipment performance and potential failures
  • Participate in troubleshooting facility and rack-level operational events
  • Record and analyze daily operational readings and metrics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure engineering initiatives

You'll work alongside experienced professionals, participating in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting facility events, and supporting infrastructure operations. Each day brings new challenges and learning opportunities, from monitoring operational metrics to assisting with rack installations and facility management.
