Position Overview:

Meaningful engagement experiences help supporters connect more deeply with that mission and understand the impact of their partnership.

The Senior Specialist, Donor Experience and Engagement, designs and coordinates donor and partner engagement experiences that strengthen relationships, advance fundraising objectives, and support long-term stewardship. This senior individual contributor role bridges fundraising strategy and organizational execution, partnering across Development, Brand & Communications, Global Impact, Executive Leadership, and National Ministries to deliver high-quality, mission-centered engagement opportunities.

Working closely with fundraising teams and organizational stakeholders, the Senior Specialist translates ministry impact into meaningful donor experiences and provides the planning, coordination, resources, and project leadership needed for successful execution. The role exercises significant independent judgment within its area of expertise but has no direct reports or formal people-management responsibility.

Core Responsibilities:

Donor & Partner Experience Design
  • Design donor, foundation, church, and partner engagement experiences to advance cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising objectives.
  • Develop engagement pathways before, during, and after donor experiences.
  • Partner with fundraising staff to define participant objectives, desired outcomes, and relationship goals.
  • Design agendas, engagement plans, and key experience moments.
  • Coordinate storytelling, impact reporting, and ministry engagement elements.
  • Develop and recommend stewardship and follow-up approaches that strengthen long-term relationships.

Examples may include: donor events, foundation site visits, donor site visits, vision trips, stewardship experiences, executive engagement opportunities, partner gatherings.

Executive & Board Engagement Planning
  • Coordinate strategic involvement of executives, Board members, and ministry leaders in donor and partner engagement activities.
  • Develop engagement plans that align participation with relationship objectives and approved fundraising priorities.
  • Coordinate executive briefing development and preparation.
  • Clarify intended outcomes and follow-up actions for each engagement.
  • Partner with executive support staff to facilitate effective planning and execution.
  • Analyze donor interests, engagement history, relationship opportunities, and stewardship gaps to provide recommendations that support fundraising strategies and relationship advancement.
